Mind Games

Play Mind games with yourself. Here’s your assignment. Write down 25 wonderful things about yourself. Then write down 25 wonderful things about your life. That’s a mind game. A mind game wakes up your childlike imagination. The creative use of your imagination makes you a genius and changes your life. But also realize that the negative use of your imagination hurts you. So stop doing that!

If you saw the movie “What The #@&** Do We Know” then you saw that the biochemical structure of a thought regulates your physiology. Yes, every thought you think creates a complex set of inner connections that can make you age, can make you young and vital, can create high blood pressure, or joy, or fear, or love, and even attract events into your life that support your notion that you are a victim. This is a great movie to see, if you have the courage to be responsible for yourself and how you feel at any given moment.

In this movie they look at emotional addictions in a very funny way. These could be called habits of thought that produce feeling. You might think of these addictions as addictions to feelings such as, being right, being the hero, or being the victim. Have you ever considered that what you feel every day is actually an emotional addiction?  That’s why you feel it every day. You may be addicted to that set of feelings even if they are negative. In the Movie they show how emotions have become trained biochemical messengers in the brain that go to their habitual configurations every day automatically. They make you feel frustrated, guilty, content, delighted, powerful, disappointed or whatever. These emotional addictions could be considered habits of thought that produce our perception of the world. The one thing they didn’t give out in the movie is how to change all this.

You change these chemical messengers by training your mind and emotions with your imagination. These are what I call Mind Games because they should be fun, enriching and positive. You can use your imagination to manipulate your thoughts until you have an emotional life filled with great joy.  This new habit of optimism is easy to establish if you practice it every day. It can be as simple as asking a question like "What’s great about this?" when you have a problem. Or, "What’s wonderful about my life?" When you ask these questions your mind has to answer, and the answer creates a new bio-chemical pathway. If you do this every day the new pathway gets strengthened and the old negative connections start to lose power. So ask new positive questions as often as you can.

This is a key to transforming your emotional life. Accept the fact that most of your time is spent in your imagination, so play a little bit more with it. Play some Mind Games. If you learn to use your imagination in a positive way you can rearrange your brain’s biochemical structure. So try it out, be a kid again. Pretty soon you will be making up your own games and feeling the difference that it makes in your body and your emotions.

What would you do if you won ten million dollars in the lottery today?

What would you start doing ? What would you stop doing? Where would you live? This will tell you a bit about yourself. Maybe it will reveal to you what you should be doing now. Think; can you start moving in that direction now, even without winning the lottery? Then play again with greater amounts and see what changes. You will then get another perspective. You are now playing a mind game.

The most important thing about playing mind games is to feel the feelings. This can be a powerful way to cheer up, get positive, get creative, find some inspiration, and reverse the aging process. Mind games are the territory of children so be a child again. Have fun with this. If you want some more ideas visit the ezlivingsystems.com website and check out the Unique Week game.
